For our office in Nootdorp, we are looking for a Solution Architect to enable our vision towards the Digital Twin of Earth. As a Geo-data company, Fugro involves various data acquisition, processing, and delivery applications to deliver its services to customers.
As a Solution Architect, you will play a crucial role in empowering development teams to collaborate towards impactful digital solutions that enable Fugro to deliver Geo-data in the shortest time and with high trust.
These solutions need to cater for the interdisciplinary teams in Fugro both in offices and at remote sites across the globe. This will require an ability to understand solutions that leverage leading edge cloud development practices at a deep technical level as well as legacy systems that continue to deliver value for Fugro. More importantly you evolve existing designs and create new designs that deliver to short term business requirements on a path to long-term target architecture.
The ideal candidate is a life-long learner with a love of technology who brings out the best in the teams they work through, making the decisions that require a cross team understanding of the solution and ensuring decisions are documented clearly to enable work to continue with confidence.
In collaboration with different lead engineers, product managers and domain experts, you design and formally document technical solutions to ensure everyone involved is working from a common understanding of how technology will drive value;
You lead the strategic use of technology in their respective service lines within Fugro's business to help evolve team capabilities and capacity to support each other;
You act as a key contact for technology decisions spanning across individual team responsibilities to avoid duplication of effort, unaddressed failures, or divergent efforts;
You collaborate with solution architects across other product groups, and enterprise architects involved in shared infrastructure and services to create synergy across Fugro;
You champion processes that are valued by teams and ensure data models, architecture, and infrastructure landscape of their respective overreach are kept up to date.
You have 5+ years of experience in a Solution Architect role or similar;
You have experience in formal documentation of system design and architecture, as well as other formal documentation practices that enable development team collaboration;
You have experience working in various stages of product development from discovery, build, scale to continuous improvement;
You have experience with a broad range of technologies, especially in data storage technologies and APIs;
You have specific knowledge and experience with AWS and other Cloud services particularly as it relates to managing large volumes of data;
You have a background in full stack development;
You understand distributed systems, their advantages, disadvantages, and how to ensure they are effective when appropriate;
Knowledge of GIS systems, point cloud system, 3D environments will be an advantage;
Experience with DevOps and MLOps will be an advantage.
